SU/SND Affiliate information
THE S.I. NEWHOUSE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC COMMUNICA- TIONS at Syracuse University houses the official student affiliate for the Society for News Design and is recognized by the SND national headquarters in North Kingstown, R.I. as SU’s official student affiliate.

Any full-time Syracuse University student may become a member of the Syracuse University/Society for News Design (SU/SND) affiliate by contacting the affiliate’s faculty adviser, Prof. Marshall Matlock, associate professor at the School.

Student members receive all services afforded SND members including the book The Best of Newspaper Design™ published each October. For further information about the Society for News Design go to the Society’s Web site by clicking on the SND logo at the bottom of this page.

SU/SND membership cost is $60 per year. This discounted membership fee is available to only students officially enrolled full-time in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Non-Newhouse students should check the membership cost by e-mailing Prof. Matlock, the affiliate’s adviser. You can click on the logo it the upper right to e-mail Prof. Matlock.

For non-student memberships go to the SND Web site to check membership fees. SU student memberships go through Prof. Matlock; all non-student memberships go directly to the SND office in North Kingstown, R.I.

Affiliate meetings will take place several times during the academic year. Also, members will have the opportunity to assist in the annual The Best of Newspaper Design™ Creative Competition that takes place at SU each February.

To assist at the judging students must be members of SU/SND.
