NCC III Wins Construction Design Award

NEWHOUSE BUILDING III has been named the Best Higher Education construction project of 2007. New York Construction Magazine announced the honor just after the newest Newhouse building was dedicated.

A jury of construction industry leaders chose the best construction projects in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut for the magazine's contest.

Out of more than 100 submissions, the jury acknowledged 28 projects in 17 different categories. Eligible projects must have been completed between Nov. 1, 2006 and Sept. 30, 2007.

Newhouse III, designed by Polshek Partnership architects, earned the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications the top prize for higher education construction projects. Awards of Merit went to two other academic projects. They are the Robert B. Goergen Hall for Biomedical Engineering and Optics at the University of Rochester and the Joan and Joel Smilow Research Center in New York City.

According to New York Construction's press release, the project teams for all the winning projects will be recognized at a December breakfast awards ceremony. Read a related article about Polshek's Newhouse III work by clicking HERE.
